Patagonia – Small group tours and walking and/or birdwatching holidays.
Patagonia has a justifiably rugged, wilderness reputation. Covering both Chile and Argentina the area holds potential for walkers and naturalists alike. Cory has just returned from a month long visit of the area to develop links with local tour operators and vet, at fist hand, a number of accommodation providers.
Whether you are looking to watch the sunrise on the peaks for the Torres del Paine or visit the magnificent pinnacles of Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy, we can organize tours involving multi day treks, staying at campsites or in refuges, or adventurous day hikes.
Sea kayaking, horse riding with Gauchos, watching glaciers crashing vast lakes and whitewater rafting are also exciting options to add to any tour of Patagonia.
Cory has returned after four weeks walking and birding in the area. We can now organise visiting Ushuaia, the town at the end of the world and gateway to Tierra del Fuego and cruises to Antarctica, Puerto Natrales, Bariloche at the heart of the Patagonian Lake District and lying at the base of the rugged Nahuel Huapi traverse and Pucon in Chile where opportunities for ascend spectacular snow capped volcanoes adrenaline sports abound. The area has an amazing mix of scenery from the fjords of Patagonian ice cap (Patagonian ice cap is largest outside the polar regions), rugged and intensely glaciated mountains, beautiful lakes, beech, pine and rain forest and endless roaming steppes. Each habitat has its own charm and diverse natural history.
5% of world’s bird species occur here including the Andean condor, nandu (1.5m tall flightless ostrich), countless penguins, black necked ibis, black necked swan, flightless steamer duck and the eccentric red head Magellan woodpecker. Making the area a birdwatchers paradise.
So if you have always wanted to visit Patagonia and never managed it, we can give you all the advice you require. Just drop us an email and we will call you back with the details you require.
