On this visit to Tibet the tour visited Samye Monastery where Buddhism was first practiced in Tibet, the Potala Palace, seat of the Dalai Lama and worked with school children in rural regions. In China the group visited the Chengdu Giant Panda Conservation Reserve and were rewarded with wonderful views of Pandas, had a bivouac on the Great Wall, viewed the Terracotta Army in Xian and trekked up the Emei Shan mountain.
‘It’s amazing how much you can squeeze into 3 weeks of a visit to this fascinating country’, reported Cory on his return.
