Crossing the Patagonian Ice Cap This is the only growing ice sheet in the world and with 200 feet of snow per year the weather is as big a challenge as the 280 km of ski-ing and sledge hawling. The first crossing of the ice cap was by Eric Shipton in 1961/2, this will be a repeat of his route but in the winter!
